Yeaaaah! I've started painting again. This painting was started months ago, and now I've resumed. This image records about three sessions on it, to date. Ahhh, summer! It doesn't look like that outside at all, these days.
This was the first of several paintings done while visiting a painter friend--we created our own art immersion program ...in her studio, not in Guanajuato! I haven't been to this charming Mexican town, but it's on my "bucket list" now!
Quick post, for the record. This was a "paint along" with Aimee tonight. Hers looked a lot different! (Read: "better." Yup, there goes my inner voice, criticizing my efforts again!) As usual... got about half way done with it within the class time frame. Will resume after my trip.... (oh right, you've heard that before??!) Confession: as of 2/16/11, I have not resumed.
There's a new Whole Foods not too far from me, so I've been taking advantage of the pastry department to supply my props! (haha, OK, so most of my "research" has been consumed first!) The hole at the top was going to be a Voodoo Doughnuts creation--a chocolate blob covered with cocoa puffs--but it looked more like a pile of... ahem! Well, nevermind... I guess I have to go back to Whole Yum to find a replacement. Aw... poor me... another visit to the pastry chefs!
